Thank you to everyone who made Meander such a dazzling success! On Sunday, June 26th we hosted 200 guests along the banks of the San Lorenzo River for a moving and meandering culinary experience like no other. Everyone had the opportunity to visit the “tree of commitment” that provided opportunities for each attendee to commit to taking action to revitalize the San Lorenzo River. Some people joined CWC’s Leadership Circle. Others committed to bringing a friend to the river. One wrote a letter to the editor which appeared in the Sentinel after the event and shared,

“I fell in love again in my own backyard thanks to the Coastal Watershed Council’s “Meander” dinner on the river. Over a hundred in our Sunday best gathered for an all-star chef en-plien-aire meal and were reminded what’s wonderful and possible about this river that is the heart of our town. Earlier in the day kids raced around the brand new benchlands pump track. Earlier in the weekend a new parklet was planted along the river path at Soquel Avenue. Earlier in the month City staff in hip waders counted high numbers of salmonids returning upstream. MeanderEarlier in the season thousands of revelers rejoiced on its banks for Earth Day. I love this river that provides me drinking water, gets me safely home on my bike, and gifts me with baby ducks and unexpected neighborly connections. Let’s keep celebrating it together to grow an even safer, healthier and more beautiful riverway.”
