What could make kids more water-wise than a summer camp located on and around their very own drinking water source? CWC’s Watershed Ranger program gives Nueva Vista students the opportunity to explore and learn about the various reaches of the San Lorenzo River in places such as Loch Lomond, Henry Cowell, Fall Creek and Castle Rock State Park.

On every step or paddle stroke along the way, they meet with watershed experts who share stories and knowledge about each part of their trip. The experience being immerses them in nature while they learn important communication and leadership skills, boating and fishing together as a team. These kids are having fun while being challenged socially and intellectually in this constructive learning environment. After the program concludes, the students will have the knowledge and confidence to share stories and information about their travels with friends, family and the community!
