This year is the 65th anniversary of the Christmas Flood of 1955.  This flood was a seminal moment in Santa Cruz City and County history.  Lives were lost and businesses damaged. It led to the end of Santa Cruz’s last Chinatown, the development of the levee system, and the building of the Santa Cruz Courthouse and County Building.
