We will be meeting along the San Lorenzo River Walk just behind the Mike Fox Skate Park aka Ken Wormhoudt Skate Park parking lot (299 San Lorenzo Blvd, Santa Cruz, CA 95060). Volunteers will be restoring healthy habitats for the recovery of ESA-listed endangered Coho Salmon and threatened Steelhead Trout native to Santa Cruz’s San Lorenzo River! Invasive plant removals allow the re-establishment of native ecosystems, promoting river bank stabilization and abundant food webs. Salmon and trout specifically benefit from these restorative efforts, allowing their habitats to thrive while keeping prey sources plentiful. This hands-on restoration event is hosted by the California Conservation Corps Watershed Stewards Program in Partnership with AmeriCorps and Coastal Watershed Council.
