Water Tour: Nature of Capitola

During this 1.5 hour walking tour, we will explore Capitola’s close ties to the creek, lagoon, and beach. Our tour will begin at the Capitola Historical Museum where we will see the new exhibition ltitled “The Nature of Capitola,” and have a personal tour by Museum Curator Frank Perry. From there, he will lead us to the mouth of Soquel Creek to learn about the geologic and human history of the area. We will examine some of the challenges facing the City of Capitola in serving both the needs of people and the needs of wildlife. We will also explore the history of the beach and wharf area. The length of this walking tour is approximately 1 mile. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing to be able to enjoy this moderate walking tour. Public restrooms will be available near the Capitola Historical Museum. Everyone is welcome and this event is FREE to the public.
