Tannery Talks: The San Lorenzo: Examining Issues of Water & Environmental Justice
January 16, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free
The Tannery Arts Center, home to nearly 200 artists, will be hosting a series of conversations in early 2020 exploring the role of artists in the environmental justice movement. Tannery Talks bring Tannery artists together with artists, activists and other professionals from the Santa Cruz region and beyond for discussions about the pressing issues of our times. Through panel discussion, talk back, and performance, the series is a jumping off point for individuals to find their own path to action, and to further engage with artists examining these topics on their work. The events are free, open to the public, and welcoming to the Santa Cruz County community.
The first talk, “The San Lorenzo: Examining issues of water & environmental justice” takes place January 16, moderated by Wes Modes, a local educator, visual artist and community organizer. The event is free and takes place at Radius Gallery at the Tannery (1050 River Street, Studio #127) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
