River Health Day
June 9, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Make a difference in the San Lorenzo River ecosystem!
Join Coastal Watershed Council staff in making a difference in the lower San Lorenzo River. Volunteers will help with caring for native plants as they grow and create habitat along the river. While you are at the river, take a closer look at the willows, alders, evening primrose and mugwort native to the watershed. Listen to the calls of bushtit and warbler over the babble of the lower river. And learn about this unique river ecosystem.
We recommend that all volunteers dress in comfortable gardening cloths, include long pants, socks and sturdy shoes. Bring sun protection or rain layer depending on the weather and be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This event will take place at our restoration site on the Santa Cruz Riverwalk between Soquel Avenue and Laurel Street Bridges. Meet at the Santa Cruz Riverwalk adjacent to Mimi De Marta Dog Park on 119 Broadway.
