The Chinatown Bridge Dragon Gate monument commemorates the site of Santa Cruz’s last Chinatown near the San Lorenzo River. The Coastal Watershed Council is embarking on a new project to share stories of the Chinese-American community in Santa Cruz, past and present, related to the San Lorenzo River for a video, website, and an interpretive sign near the Dragon Gate. 🐉

As a first step, CWC is seeking members of the Chinese-American community in Santa Cruz to join a focus group discussion on Thursday, October 24, from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Coastal Watershed Council Office (107 Dakota Ave, Suite 4, Santa Cruz, CA 95060 (Ground floor of the Good Times Building).

Come learn about the project, share stories and key themes about the Chinese-American experience in Santa Cruz to highlight, and suggest potential storytellers who have a connection to the San Lorenzo River. We look forward to connecting with you! Light refreshments provided.
