Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series

About this tour…

Learn about the birds that thrive along the lower San Lorenzo River. Learn how to use binoculars, important bird ID tips and more as we observe native and migratory birds along the river. Learn about how these animals use and shape the riparian corridor that surrounds the river. This tour will be led by Darrow from the Bird School Project. This tour is great for kids!

The tour will begin here on the Riverwalk across from the Trader Joe’s parking lot. During the tour we will walk down to the Trestle Bridge and back. Binoculars will be provided.

About the series…

The Coastal Watershed Council and Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History are teaming up again in 2018 to bring you a nature series unlike any other. Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series connects you with local naturalists, leading experts, scientists and artists while exploring the banks of the San Lorenzo River. Learn about the birds, bugs, fish, flora and fauna of the San Lorenzo River with the whole family. Tours are open to all ages and will be hosted every Saturday, from February 3 to Earth Day on April 22.
