Exploring the San Lorenzo River Tour: Flow and the Life of a Fish *Full*

March 4, 2017 @ 1:15 pm - 2:45 pm

On March 4th, join us for the Exploring the San Lorenzo River tour AFTER the State of the San Lorenzo River Symposium from 10 AM to 1 PM. During the symposium, experts on the San Lorenzo River will be discussing the importance of flow in the river and how it impacts everything from the water supply available for Santa Cruz residents to drink, to the life cycles of steelhead salmon.

Immediately following the symposium join us for our Flow and the Life of a Fish tour: an interactive lesson on anadromous fish life cycles, the value of in stream flow, and the threats to fish survival. The tour will meet here at the Riverwalk adjacent to the Kaiser Permanent Arena at 1:15. This tour will be led by Shaara Ainsley and Erin Loury, fisheries biologists at Fish Bio.

The Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series offers weekly interactive tours on the topic of fish and birds of the watershed co-hosted by the Coastal Watershed Council and Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History. Learn about and explore the ecosystem of the San Lorenzo River with experts! Tours are open to all ages and will be hosted Saturdays from February 18 through April 22! The Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series in funded by the Santa Cruz Fish and Wildlife Advisory Commission and Clif Bar.
