Estuary Re-Vegetation Restoration Project

“ESTUARY RE-VEGETATION RESTORATION PROJECT”
Hosted by the The Valley Women’s Club of SLV and the Santa Cruz Recreation & Parks Department, Featuring AmeriCorps Team Silver 3
WHAT is the PROJECT?
The Native Habitat Restoration Committee of the Valley Women’s Club (VWC) is involved in a major PROJECT of ongoing, long term stewardship up-River. Now, with Santa Cruz City Parks and Recreation, the PROJECT is expanding along San Lorenzo River Levee, to restore and visually enrich native plant vegetation, to entice the 3 B’s (BUTTERFLIES, BIRDS, BEES), to feed, find shelter & a home in an enriched, self-sustaining, easy care wildlife habitat.
Our goal is to unite the upper & lower San Lorenzo River volunteer communities
to work side by side for the benefit of our River.
WHY a Kick-Off?
The Native Habitat Restoration Committee of the VWC is co-sponsoring an AmeriCorps Team with the Santa Cruz County Parks Department, and will bring Team Silver 3 to work on the River levee on Friday, February 24 to start the Levee Project.
