The health of local watersheds (drainage basins that lead to the ocean) is directly connected to our quality of life. Watersheds impact public health, recreation, wildlife, aquatic life and our tourism economy. Through a variety of innovative and fun science-based education programs, CWC encourages children and adults to learn about—and engage with—this vital local resource.

CWC utilizes its scientific expertise to design and implement water quality monitoring programs for creeks, streams and storm drains—providing local leaders and the public with critical data on watershed health.

Local residents are the single most important resource to protect our watersheds. CWC’s Stewardship Toolkit empowers residents to actively reduce water pollution and improve the health of our local watersheds. CWC encourages residents to share success stories through its web-based Data & Stewardship Portal, which features an interactive map.
